The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently launched a fugitives Web site for most-wanted environmental criminals. The agency says it hopes the site will encourage the public to help track down fugitives for crimes ranging from smuggling of ozone-depleting chemicals to illegal disposal of hazardous waste — but warns people not to try to capture the suspects themselves.
Among the 23 fugitives listed: Mauro Valenzuela (right; photo from EPA Web site), a former mechanic charged with illegally transporting waste oxygen generators on ValuJet flight 592 in 1996 without proper markings or safety measures. After a fire believed to have been started by the generators, the jet crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 110 passengers and crew members.
Valenzuela, accused of causing the generators to be loaded onto the flight, fled after failing to appear in federal court.
The site also lists fugitives who have been captured by EPA.
People who encounter fugitives are asked to fill out a “report a fugitive” form on the Web site.

Boy, some of these guys are dangerous felons for importing cars that did not meet pollution control laws!
LOL!!!!!
In the mean time, 100′s of thousands illegal aliens trash the desert and remove emissions devices from their cars.
Interesting list. Two glaring omissions, though: George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. Let’s hope the Feds prosecute their environmental crimes, too.
Oh no!
I sold a can of R-12 at a garage sale.
bugs222: how about the bleeding heart liberals who want to encourage limitless illegal immigration to stream into this country, unchecked? they’ve done more enviro damage than those two could ever dream of.
I think you are thinking like sukrat, but I think you should cover the other side of the topic in the post too…
Wow! Thank you!
I always wanted to write in my blog something like that. Can I take part of your post to my site?
Of course, I will add backlink?
