A new study that involved the capture, collaring and tracking of bobcats shows that the mid-sized predators make use of habitat fragments along the edges of urban Orange County. In part, it’s good news; the creatures appear able survive in more places than scientists previously thought. But it comes with bad news as well. To reach these fragments, the cats must cross busy streets, and many are killed.
