Are you green enough? Enter our contest to find out

Today the Orange County Register kicks off its “How I went Green” contest, and if you think you have the stuff to win, here’s how:

Send us a photo showing how you went green by April 17.

Include a sentence or two explaining it.

Sit back and wait to be declared the winner.

Two winning entries will be chosen, one by the number of votes received from online viewers, the other by a panel of judges. The winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22.

Just how easy is it to go green in OC?

“In Orange County, we have a lot of resources,” said Laura Curran, a part-time faculty member at Cal State Fullerton who specializes in management and sustainability — and who will act as one of the judges.

“Kids go to school and they learn about things like this, then they come home and conduct their own energy audits. In Orange County, we have active chapters of organizations such as the Green Building Council. Then, you can live in communities, like downtown Fullerton and Corona del Mar, where you can go a lot of places on foot, on a bike, on the bus.”

If I commit suicide, does that count??
I can’t think of a better way to reduce my carbon footprint then to stop breathing. We exhale carbon dioxide right? And news writers have begun referring to carbon dioxide as a pollutant so if I kill myself to show people how serious I am about going green, can I pick someone else to receive my prize post-humously on my behalf??
