Not that we want to rush you, but time is passing.

The deadline for entering the Orange County Register’s “How I Went Green” contest is fast approaching.

Hundreds of votes have already been cast; visit the Register’s How I Went Green contest page to vote, or to submit your own entry.

The deadline: 11:59 p.m., April 17.

 The mission: Send us a photo with a sentence or two explaining how you went green.

The prize: Two winners will receive one $50 home-improvement gift card each.

The choosing: One award will be based on the number of votes received online. The other will be decided by a panel of three judges. Winners will be announced on OCRegister.com on Earth Day, April 22, as well as in the printed paper’s Life section.
