In O.C., winds still holding smoke at bay

While a stubborn ridge of wildfire smoke was still visible on the northern horizon, Orange County remained largely clear of smoke pollution Monday, the work of mild winds from the west and southwest. smokela

Some smoke still managed to drift south, however, and might have contributed to a morning haziness in inland Orange County, said National Weather Service forecaster Stan Wasowski.

A marine layer moving in off the ocean was fighting back. Visibility in Newport Beach and Dana Point dropped to half a mile Monday morning, he said, as fog moved ashore. In San Clemente, visibility was down to a quarter mile.

Smoke effects should remain minimal Tuesday, with winds continuing to push smoke to the east and northeast, Wasowski said.

After having the day turn to night at noon and the air thick with smoke. Not to mention the debris on my cars, lawn, home et cetera from the fire last year in the Brea area, which was, as I believe, “Orange County” and the fact that the idiots of that county’s fire agencies couldn’t put it out, why is this important? Orange County get’s what Orange County deserves!
