The environmental group, CalPIRG, is offering a public tour Thursday of the UC Irvine student center, a gem among green buildings.
The student center was built with features that cut its reliance on energy and natural resources: fly-ash concrete, carpet low in volatile organic compounds, reflective roofing, waterless urinals, recycled water for irrigation, solar panels.
Join members of CalPIRG’s Global Warming Solutions Campaign Thursday, Oct. 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the student center, near Pereira Drive and Peltason Drive on the UC Irvine campus (see map).
