Take a night hike at Irvine Ranch Outdoor Ed Center

October 28th, 2009, 9:53 am · Post a Comment · posted by William Diepenbrock, Editor

Our friends at Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center are opening new trails for night hikes on two Thursdays a month — a great time to catch a glimpse of nocturnal critters, check out the constellations and get some perspective on the outdoors from the center’s naturalists.

But hurry to sign up: Just four dates were announced on Tuesday and already 23 folks have signed up for the first hike. Naturalists will try to keep a 12-to-1 ratio with hikers.

The hikes are from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 and 19, and Dec. 3 and 10. Cost is $5 a person. To register, call 800-436-2119.
