Should we “green” our history?

The push to preserve historic buildings can stoke passions in Orange County; so can the push to “go green.”

Putting both together might make a volatile mixture. A San Clemente business owner, in fact, is testing the idea at his eco-friendly art store. He’s the first in the county to install solar panels on the roof of a historic building, says Register staff writer Brittany Levine.

It’s a tricky proposition, because the outsides of historic buildings can’t be tampered with. So how do you attach the panels?
