Did you really, REALLY think this was ever about “Climate Change”. Pffft. It’s always been about ONE thing. Wealth redistribution, on a GLOBAL scale. It doesn’t matter that the lie they’ve perpetuated in order to steal the money from “wealthy offender” Nations has been exposed. Just as it doesn’t matter that it’s now been shown that “Health Care Reform” will end up RASING the cost of Health Insurance. Wealth Redistribution and Social Equality remain their mandates. They’ll bleed us dry no matter WHAT the hard data shows.

      Why don’t you use a bit of logic to determine the actual course of events here? I’ll even lay it out on the table for you:

      The Climategate/Climaquiddick/whatever goofy and “clever” name you’re giving it now situation, while being a breach of the usual procedure and something to be derided, was hardly evidence of a massive coverup. The original raw data was stacked away many years ago while they used the normalized and cleaned up data. This is hardly an unknown process in the scientific community, and doesn’t provide any inkling of a massive conspiracy. They should have kept the raw data, and the fact that they didn’t was a bad move on their part, but this doesn’t make it a large conspiracy to “kill the rich” or whatever you’re claiming.

      But enough of that. Lets put it in simpler terms:

      What do scientists have to gain from telling people to conserve and not pollute? More research grants? More book sales from crying about “the end of the world”? Do you really think someone would put in place this massive conspiracy to “destroy” the economy just to get a few more book sales? The whole foundation behind science is peer-reviewed journals that all scientists strive to make breakthroughs. The overall consensus amongst the people who deal with the actual science day in and day out is that the climate is changing in an adverse fashion due to our actions. There is no incentive for a scientist to “fit in with the mold”, as the scientific community has an almost god-like reverence for the scientific method and discovering new breakthroughs that change our understanding of the world…as long as it is based in reality.

      On the other hand; what’s the incentive to deny global climate change? For one, you said it yourself. “Wealth redistribution”. You’re worried you’ll make less money if you have to clean up after yourself. Factory owners and corporation finance managers hate having to pay for “pesky” costs of cleanup and meeting environmental controls. The incentive to lie and say the climate will not change no matter what we do is simply too high, and the people who promote it too powerful. They will stop at nothing to deny climate change, as their profit margins rely on it. That said, “Cap and trade” is a ridiculously “free market” based cop-out, one that even John McCain supported. Cap and Trade is simply another way to pay lip-service to the idea of environmentalism while allowing yet another way to make massive speculative profits (Follow the money trail and you’ll find that Goldman Sachs and the other investment firms on Wall Street are massively in favor of this, as it will give them a new market in the form of carbon credit trading). Not to mention, the systems being proposed for this “market based solution” are weak and won’t reduce emissions much at all. It’s the worst of both worlds; will harm the economy without doing much of anything to actually fix our environmental situation.

      Finally, and I would like to stress this most of all; by definition, economic growth means more pollution and resource use. Our economy’s growth is directly at odds with the idea of a sustainable style of living. But lets all ignore that and forget about the future; we’ve got money to make today!

      You think your kids are going to be punished by “high taxes”? Try this on for size; with the route we’re taking now, you’re punishing your kids with a devastated environment. Try letting your kids live through a world with very little fuel because you decided that you wanted to live 50 miles from work in the exurbs in that big house of yours. Try letting your kids live in a world where the majority of wars are fought over fresh water supplies and arable farmland. I think your kids would prefer to pay a bit extra in taxes and NOT live in some wasteland.

        What the heck are you talking about.

        When I was in college, taking classes like Crisis Biology, Micro Biology, and the such in the late 70′s and early 80′s my professors at the time used to joke about in the future people would start harping about climate control, global warming etc.. Talk with any geoligist or climantologist that is worth there weight in gold and they will all tell you its Crapola. This planet has been doing this for millions of years, and to think we have only the last couple of hundred to account for mans presence.

        When I was kid in the 60′s and 70′s living in Orange County there was hardly a day when we could see the foothills of east Orange. It was a one a million day if you got to see Saddleback. Oh, and I can remember countless days when we were not allowed to go outside and play because of the smog. Ok so we had some really bad smog. Those days are gone, forever I might add. Yet if I compare the temeratures for Orange County in the 60′s and 70′s there is no significant diffence there is today. That’s just one part of the planet.

        Where glaciers are diminishing on one part of the planet they are growing at another. Look it up. Google is your friend.

        Ever heard of the Wobbler Effect. The Earth Wobbles as it spins on its axis. At some point in time the North and South poll will again be the equator.

        Nice try, but….NOT. The Climate IS “changing”. Just as it has been doing, continually, since the Earth was formed. To think that man has any but the most nominal effect is naive AND arrogant.

        Ask AL GORE what a person might stand to gain by promulgating the HOAX which is Anthropogenic Global Warming. Puhlease.

        What do Scientist gain from promulgating the HOAX? Hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars in Grant money – EVERY STINKIN’ YEAR! Money which would DRY UP and BLOW AWAY if it weren’t for their continuous Chicken Little act. Not to mention the fact that they actually HAVE jobs….they, and TENS OF THOUSANDS of college students who are being indoctrinated into the CULT, and are earning degrees in USELESS, WORTHLESS, JUNK SCIENCE at a faster rate than there are students earning Degrees in any LEGITIMATE Science. How naive are you, anyway?

        It never was about global cooling. That was a mainstream story that only a small minority of scientists subscribed to that never had much of a factual basis anyway.

        Science works by assuming previous theories are correct…UNLESS evidence to the contrary makes us rethink how that theory is designed. Then again, I bet you’re the type of person to think “theory” means unproven and not true (the popular definition, not the actual scientific definition).

        How funny that you think that the color of the sky correlates directly to the temperature of the planet. Smog in this area was due to the trapping of the almost-uncontrolled emissions of millions of automobiles in the foothills and the valleys. Smog is a very localized effect, yet the emissions that come from vehicles are still a big contributor to the climate change occurring. Yes, temperatures have increased from the 60s and 70s. Yes, the local climate has gotten drier due to a shifting of weather patterns. Glaciers are breaking up at a rapid pace all across the world, while the arable landscapes of many equatorial countries are losing ground due to desertification brought on by shifting climates. One more thing, did those “geologists and climatologists” tell you about this “Wobbler Effect”, because it sounds like your professors had a very sarcastic sense of humor. Were you misunderstanding the concept of magnetic pole reversal?

        How naive are you to believe that somehow thousands and thousands of highly-educated and dedicated scientists would suddenly be out of work and grant money if they didn’t mention anything about the climate changing? Believe me, there are PLENTY of fields that those scientists could work in that would pay more than they currently get, and I’m sure all of them would be absolutely thrilled to learn that our environment is safe from harm and we can undo emissions regulations. I love how you and the rest of the right immediately assume that anything the scientific community says is bunk because you don’t notice the immediate effects, while you place complete trust in people who’s sole purpose in life is to maximize the next fiscal quarter’s profit. People who, as we’ve all seen in the last 10 years, will stop at nothing to make money even if it hurts them in the end.

        I do love how you’re calling things like sustainable energy usage and preventing power plants from belching out pollution “junk science” though. I guess the only good science to you is that which gives you more money or builds you more powerful weapons, right?

        In the real world, there is no “controversy”. Our scientists are working on ways to minimize the damage we’ve done and to try to salvage the situation, but it seems that it may already be too late and that we’re hitting the tipping point. The only controversy is manufactured by people who’s sole motive is to make as much money as possible before the whole thing collapses. I guess though, you’ll be fine either way. When billions are dead from loss of arable farmland and rising sea levels, and wars are fought over water, not oil, you’ll probably still be safe. Only the richest will be able to afford the squads that will kill over the last few resources.

  Since she is so concerned about so-called climate change (by the way, the climate is ALWAYS in a state of flux), I hope she’s already aboard her sailboat enroute to Copenhagen since I know she feels it mandatory to keep her “carbon footprint” to a minimum. I love how these ENVIRO-NAZIS changed the nomenclature to “climate change” since it was blatantly obvious that the globe wasn’t warming and was no longer in-line with this fraud they are trying to ram down our throats, so they just changed the wording to suit whatever outcome they could fraudulently support. Maybe her time would be better spent searching for a new profession, since this whole scam will come crashing down as this CLIMATE-GATE scandal continues to unfold in Europe.
