The report, “Energy Efficiency Occupations in Orange County,” says growth in the energy-efficiency arena is being fueled by federal stimulus dollars, state legislation, a $2 billion efficiency campaign by California’s Investor Owned Utilities and an $800 million campaign by Southern California Edison, as well as a green initiatives plan by local business groups.

The research, done by the O.C. Center of Excellence, an economic development program hosted by the Rancho Santiago Community College District, involved surveys of businesses statewide; the study focuses on 137 employers in Orange County. The surveys were done with the help of Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Co. and others.
